Have you reviewed ABC2 show Review: with Myles Barlow – if so what’s the verdict? Is it worth even mentioning it? It reminded me a bit of a good (old) SBS Life Matters, but with just the one ‘character’..maybe Dr. Rudi. ABC spokespeice (…Gibson? head of content) said it supposed to be ‘identifying the new brand – edgy/street’ or something similarly bullshitty.

  2. Simon Band says:

We outsourced the review to India… Or more accurately Danny on Whats on the Tube did it already (and wonderfully I should add)

    Hey guys,
I try to catch your show each week but unfortunately sometimes miss it. Just wondering if you’ve seen(or already reviewed) ‘Eastbound and Down’?
I caught the whole first series on a return flight to New Zealand recently and thought it was the funniest US comedy I had seen in a while. Some people will hate it but I can’t wait for the second series.
Would you have any idea when it will be shown here or if the dvd will be released soon?
    Cheers Rick.

Hey Rick, I’ve seen the first episode of Eastbound & Down and found it a difficult watch. Have been meaning to get around to seeing the show a second time.

And if you miss the show, you should download the podcast. It’s perfect for listening to while catching a bus, taking a walk to the shops, or when sitting on the toilet.

    Hey Hey Dan etc.

I just saw that thing on Hey Hey… I am sad that Aus TV is still capable of such shocking stupidity. The producers responsible for that should be forced to spend the rest of their careers at SBS, preferably on the studio floor. Is that too harsh? Possibly, but skinning them alive and soaking them in acid is probably illegal, so a career at SBS is a handy substitute.

Also I am quivering with delight at the prospect of the CYE/Seinfeld story arc. I won’t hold my breath waiting for it to make it on to free to air over here though…

    Have you seen this?

    Looks like fun!

  8. Simon Band says:

Don’t even get Dan started about “V”. The dude even held a “V:The Original” viewing party at his home. The dude is nuts!

  9. Dan Barrett says:

I am approaching the V remake in nervous trepidation.

And young Simon, 1980′s V was perhaps the cultural event of all existence. Embrace it and own ones love for it, I say.

  10. WittyReference says:

Have you guys been watching the good new show called Modern Family? Have you noticed that Channel 10 are editing the context of the show in their adds?
By that I mean that they’ll show an add all week, usually invovling a back and forth between two characters, and then when the show airs you realise the reaction shot from the second person is completely different. Channel 10 is editing the end of the joke and often the context and meaning!

Is it just me or is that wrong?

  11. Simon Band says:

Don’t even get me started about it. I’m still prickly from the way they edited their promos for “The O.C.” to misrepresent the Marissa Cooper lesbian storyline.

  12. WittyReference says:

how come there is a “log in” button but I can’t find a “register” button.
Is this some cruel circular logic joke?

  13. Simon Band says:

That’s more for Dan and I. There *was* a scoial networking part of the site, but we killed it. Like a Minke Whale.
