TV Rev Podcast #66 – Live Long & Prosper
This week on the Televised Revolution podcast, Simon climbed out of his sickbed to help produce the finest hour of his community radio career. 15 minutes later, he died.
While we all mourn the loss of Simon, sit back and enjoy a sterling foray into the world of TV and all things televisual.
This week on the Televised Revolution podcast, Dan and Simon discuss:
*The media assassination of Matthew Johns TV career (we think he was a footballer of some description)
*ABC and SBS get some Government funding
*Q. Who the heck is watching digital TV? A. Western Australians.
*AJ Rochesters management say adieu
And there’s so much more. No TV Highlights this week because, well, we ran out of time. There are only so many minutes in an hour.

It’s multi-vitamins and whiskey mostly….

Regarding our story on Matthew Johns, we should probably make the following correction regarding wrong-doing and innocence, as was on Media Watch:
http://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/transcripts/s2573895.htm
“Danny Weidler: Johns is one of several Sharks players investigated for sexual assault. He was cleared of any wrong-doing by police, but the incident is about to become an issue again on an upcoming Four Corners program.
— Channel Nine News, 7th May, 2009″
He wasn’t ‘cleared of any wrong-doing’, Danny. The New Zealand police decided not to press criminal charges.
That’s not the same thing.

I see – Simon did sound all phlegmy last week… and the death rattle as he tried to move off-mic to splutter – what a trouper!

News of my death has been greatly exaggerated…
