The misfortune of television networks and the internet.
I had the misfortune of watching Larry Emdur Rapping with Vanilla Ice this morning on Channel 7′s “The Morning Show”. I then, out of some sick sense of curiosity, wanted to see if some die-hard 7 fan had illegally posted the clip to YouTube, which is what YouTube is there for (don’t deny it). It turns out that 7 have posted it up themselves. Proud as punch? I then watch it. I show my wife. I get in my car. I drive to Dan’s house. I force Dan to watch.
In a media-scape with Youtubes, RSS, Twattering (the verb form), do we have a thousand different ways to keep everybody engaged and watching …. nothing at all?

I’m just bummed that The Morning Show made a big deal about being on Twitter (‘message us – Big Laz is keen to Tweet’) and yet when I witnessed quite possibly the finest rap artist of our generation laying down some smoke doping beats with Vanilla Ice, I Tweet the Morning Show thus:
‘MC Big Laz in da house. Rockin’ da Mic, 4 REAL. U ROCK, Big Laz!’
There is no luv in return. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Perhaps Big Laz still fuming about my previous Tweet (also ignored)?:
‘Is that Big Laz’s real hair, or does he have plugs?’

Watching that made me cringe…
Larry Emdur’s rap career, is like the Australian version of Family Double Dare 20 years ago…
Good concept, but will be a flop, due to the economic crisis.
