On the Tube: Conan’s 1.5 million dollar sketch
I suggest you watch this before the all-seeing eye of lawyer bots remove these videos, but with the “to-ings and fro-ings” of NBC and the recent discussions over late night programming (especially those of you who remeber Dan spending almost an entire show talking about it last week on the TV Rev radio show?) we’ve been seeing some interesting stuff coming out of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. Massive ratings boosts, trouncing the competition, and some absolute comedy GOLD!
To highlight this, a wonderful clip, that for reasons that are made obvious in the joke, have been edited out of the Hulu footage for the show. I present to you “Conan’s 1.5 million dollar sketch”:

UPDATE!!!!
It seems Conan didn’t get no satisfaction with that expense claim. In an effort to go one step further, the next night Conan introduces “Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird”. Total cost = $4.8 million.

*Whether the horse was in fact Mine That Bird is a matter being disputed on horse forums across the Internet.

I’m waiting for someone to explain the “we can do crazy expensive stuff and NBC has to pay for it” statement.
Am I naive in thinking that any crazy expensive stuff would always have to go through the network before the money’s spent?

You guy’s get that it’s a joke, right? (a very funny one btw)

He should start his own network, way things are going he’ll buy them out anyway. Poor rich bastard.

Only problem is that now Conan has lost the rights to that Mouse character! D’oh!
