Never has there been a better night to stay in. No, really.

Clock-Midnight-web

7:30pm
Back To The Future (Ch 10) – You’ve all no doubt seen it plenty of times before, but why should that stop you seeing it again?

8:30pm
Return of The King (Ch 7) -
I’d rather have teeth pulled than sit through one of the LoTR films again. But, lots of other people seem to have liked them. Might be your cup of tea.
South Park (Go!) – Go! will be airing 9 episodes back to back. No longer are TV marathons of shows we’ve all seen ad nauseum restricted to Foxtel.

10pm
Shaun Micallef’s New Year’s Rave (Ch 10)
– Shaun Micallef invites viewers into his loungeroom to see in the new year. With celebrity guests and Micallef garbed in an old man sweater, this promises to be a return to the Shaun Micallef we knew from the Micalef Program and a little less the uber popular TAYG host. Even though they’re really the same guy.

11:10pm
The Graham Norton Show (ABC2)
- Graham Norton presents a NYE special. For some viewers the decision between Norton and Micallef may be difficult indeed.

11:50pm
Respect Yourself: The Stax Records Story (SBS1)
- You won’t even notice the clock turning 12 with this doco about Stax Records. Stax Records launched the careers of Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, the Staple Singers, Wilson Pickett, Luther Ingram, Albert King, the Bar-Kays, Booker T & the MGs, and Johnnie Taylor.

12:10am
And Now for Something Completely Different (ABC1)
- It’s almost as if TV doesn’t want to give you the opportunity to go to bed. No doubt you’ve seen this one almost as often as Back To The Future, but just try turning it off.
Can’t Stop the Music (Ch 9) – Continuing their annual tradition, Channel 9 starts off the new year with a screening of the Village People film starring Steve Gutenberg.
