Televised Revolution Podcast #78

It’s not often that a new television channel launches on Australian FTA television. So, naturally we had a couple of things to say about it in the week following its launch.

So, this week on the Televised Revolution podcast, Dan, Simon, and Dennis take a look at Go!, Channel 9′s new digital multi-channel. We look at the technical issues surrounding the channel, as well as its content. Spoiler alert: Opinion is mixed.

Throughout the show, we also discuss:
*Judith Lucy joins Rove
*Optus launch a new satellite
*Advertising leading to obesity

We also provide our weekly highlights, and there’s our weekly topic: If you could resurrect a dead TV star from Hollywood to be a regular on Neighbours, who would you choose?

On a side note, the Brisbane radio station Triple Zed (4ZZZ, 102.1fm) is goodly enough to allow us to broadcast our show each week. Triple Zed is a community broadcaster and is able to continue broadcasting due to financial assistance from our listeners. This assistance comes in the form of subscriptions to the station, as well as donations.

Over the next week, Triple Zed will be running its Radiothon – a week-long subscription drive. Everyone who subscribes goes into the draw for a number of prizes (including overseas holidays, and cinema gold passes).

So, if you have some money to spare and have an interest in seeing media continue to broadcast that promotes an independent voice away from large media organizations (lets be honest, most media in Australia is owned by 3-4 large companies), Triple Zed would certainly appreciate your assistance.

Should you choose to part with your hard-earned cash and cite Televised Revolution as your favourite program on Triple Zed, you’ll also go into the draw to win a signed script by the Chaser. It’s the shooting script for the final episode of The Chasers War on Everything. Personally, I think that’s a pretty sweet prize.

For more information, please check out the Triple Zed website, follow their Twitter, or tune in on 102.1fm in Brisbane.

They already dropped JLucy? New blonde replacement there tonight. For one night only was it… I can barely look at rove’s show anymore, like sniffing cold sick.

  2. Anders says:

Maybe I sniffed too soon – she might have come on later (as Hughes replacement). Oh well..
