Fads I Was Thankful To Forget- ALF

29 May 2007 by Dan Barrett, No Comments »

It’s almost hard to remember back to a time where Max Wright wasn’t well known for smoking crack with homeless men, but one must if they are to recall the 80′s phenomenon ALF.

ALF, a furry puppet claiming to be from Melmac, landed on Earth where he set up residence with the deathly dull Tanner family. My question is this: Lets say you’re a guy named Gordon Shumway and you travel across the galaxy, only to be stranded with an atypical cookie cutter sitcom family, would you really be keen on everyone neglecting to call you by your name, but rather as ALF (Alien Life Form)?

Since ALF first hit the screen, he scored an animated series made to cash in on the success of the sitcom, and just a few years ago hosted his own Tonight show.
