The science fiction drama series Falling Skies which was massively promoted last year and produced by Steven Spielberg returns this week on TNT. The show is created by Robert Rodat (writer of films such as Saving Private Ryan and The Patriot) and stars Noah Wyle (E.R) as a professor who becomes the second-in-command of a Militia Regiment who are a group of civilians and fighters escaping from post-apocalyptic Boston. The show was a big hit for TNT last season, and returns for its second season of ten episodes airing in the US on Sundays.
Returning for its second season as well this week is TV Land comedy The Exes. The show boasts a reasonably well known cast in Kristen Johnson (3rd Rock From The Sun), Donald Faison (Scrubs) and Wayne Knight (Seinfeld) and follows Johnson as a divorce attorney and landlord to three divorced men that share an apartment together across the hall. Ten episodes of the show have been produced, to air in the US on Wednesdays.
Also launching this week is the Matt Groening animated comedy Futurama for its seventh season on Comedy Central. As for season finales, there were plenty on offer this week with shows Girls (HBO) and The Client List (Lifetime) wrapping up their first respective seasons. AMC’s The Killing finally got around to solving it’s two season long mystery of Rosie Larson’s murder this past Sunday. Whilst the Laura Linney Showtime series The Big C concluded its third season.
