So, what grievances do you have about television this year? We here at Televised Revolution have a few:
*Go! have a horrible tendency to start their shows a few minutes earlier, thereby rendering most of their shows unwatchable by people with PVR’s.
*Sitting through 18 installments of Dollhouse to reach the point where its almost watchable now.
*ABC1 airing Q&A in regions where it isn’t live. Part of the excitement of Q&A is being able to interact with the show and others on Twitter while its going to air. Daylight Savings destroyed it for Qld, so one can only imagine the frustration of those in SA and WA. The ABC could easily rectify this by showing it live on ABC HD.
What grievances do YOU wish to air?
I would like to leave some praise, just to be contrary… still thinking! Ah, very glad reality tv is stiffing at last! (excluding Master Chef).
The huge over-reliance on US franchise TV is tedious.. CSI, Stargate et al. And now, australia has stumbled into this trench also (Underbelly).
Risks taken with the current production and programming (especially) paradigm are nearly zero. What if I wanted to watch Dollhouse (for example) on free to air tv?
To offer something: I’d like to see the serialised equivalent of a Lars Von Trier movie experiment (even if it fails).
